I'm going to work backwards ont he good things that happened this weekend.  Sunday's shooting at  the Missouri State Service Rifle Championship included a CMP Excellence In Competition match...we call it a leg match.  We had about 22 shooters overall, including 16 non-Distinguished shooters, which was enough to award an 8-point and a 6-point leg.  Osage Orange Sharpshooter Scott Ives took the 6-point leg with a 473-12X.  That's a good step towards the 30 points he needs to get his Distinguished Rifleman's Badge.  This is a big deal, and I thought it deserved a separate  topic.  Scott's a real hard competitor, someone who never gives up no matter how bad the conditions are (and Sunday it was hot and very windy, a very challenging day).  He should have no trouble in getting his remaining points fairly soon.  You can see how tough he is in this photo:
