Fresh of the presses of ShootingSports USA.  NRA is moving the Highpower Championships to Camp Atterbury, Indiana (south of Indianapolis).  Across the course matches begin July 8, moving to Mid-Range, and then Long Range.

Apparently the CMP is bent on taking more and more time at Camp Perry for their new matches, and they refused to give NRA desireable dates.  If you look at the CMP Camp Perry Calendar for 2017, the NRA dates began on July 5, which would have shooters travelling over the 4th of July.  So NRA apparently decided they weren't wanted and found a different venue.

In the thread at National Match Forum, Sara Rozanski of CMP said CMP will be going to a highpower classification system and adding a full slate of highpower matches (to duplicate NRA?) in 2018.

And the big question for NRA shooters is: will scopes be allowed in the Match Rifle category...rumomre says "yes."

Here's a copy of the NRA schedule from SSUSA, for reference, CMP Small Arms Firing School begins on July 15:

-First Shot Ceremony - July 7
-Welcome BBQ (afternoon) - July 7
-Across the Course - July 8-13
-Mid-Range - July 14-17
-Long-Range - July 18-22
